2019 Rav4 Price New Concept

What’s New for 2019

A new platform, angular off-road-truck-inspired styling, upscale interiors, and improved performance are some of the highlights of the 2019 Toyota RAV4. There’s a new sporty model, the hybrid-only XSE, that offers impressive fuel economy paired with the most potent powertrain.

Driving It

Driving Impressions
The non-hybrid Toyota RAV4’s 2.5-liter engine uses an 8-speed automatic transmission, which we drove in an XLE model. Most compact SUV buyers will be happy with the engine’s power, and the transmission does a fine job. The 8-speed is eager to upshift, optimizing fuel economy. While there was some road noise and vibration, wind noise was extremely low. The suspension offered a pleasant balance of comfort and handling ability, and the seats are comfortable, even on extended drives. The Adventure model, with the tallest stance and largest wheel and tire package, came equipped with torque vectoring, which can send up to 50 percent of torque to the rear wheels and can control torque distribution to the left and right rear wheels. This is helpful off-road, provides more confidence in inclement weather, and improves handling and cornering. The 2019 Toyota RAV4 XSE HV, the sportiest model in the line, is a hybrid — it offers the most available power in the RAV4 lineup (219 hp versus 203), plus a sport-tuned suspension that’s exclusive to the XSE. The sport-tuned suspension has firmer damping, a more aggressive spring rate, and retuned shocks. The hybrid has excellent power off the line, and has very good power for midrange passing, a big benefit when driving at freeway speeds.

Favorite Features

RAV4 XSE HV MODEL

It’s easy to like a trim level that takes advantage of the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid’s superior power, excellent acceleration off the line, and sport-tuned suspension, while providing terrific fuel economy. Better yet, you don’t have to pay top-of-the-line dollars for this performance hybrid, which starts at around $35,000.

JBL PREMIUM AUDIO

This 11-speaker, 800-watt audio system comes as part of a $1,620 option package, but provided clear, rich sound with terrific separation. If this system keeps the RAV4 within your price range, test it out at your local dealer. It’s the best audio system of the bunch.
Vehicle Details

Interior

Once dull and dark inside, for 2019, the Toyota RAV4 has one of the finest interiors in its class. The cabin looks and feels more upscale, with plenty of soft-touch materials on the dash and center armrest. The center stack is dominated by a crisp, bright 8-inch screen (7-inch on base LE models), which serves as the control center for audio, navigation and Apple CarPlay, with physical buttons on both sides of the screen. There are also giant grippy volume, tuning and temperature knobs below. You can choose from cloth or 2-tone SofTex seats (no leather), but a passenger-side power seat isn’t available. Further enhancing the RAV4’s new attitude: The XSE model dons blue accents and stitching, and the Adventure model gets splashes of orange.

Exterior

On the 2019 Toyota RAV4, the soft, rounded edges of the previous model are replaced by sharp lines and geometric shapes. The 2019 RAV4 has a taller stance, and uses a rugged grille inspired by the front end of Toyota’s off-road trucks, with a hint of 4Runner influence. There are angular wheel arches and a black lower body, with black cladding and a unique front bumper on the Adventure trim level. Most trim levels will be one color, but the Adventure model and hybrid XSE are available with a contrasting roof color, either Ice Edge or Midnight Black Metallic. The RAV4 comes standard with 17-inch wheels, but 18- and 19-inch wheels are also available.

Notable Standard Equipment

All non-hybrid 2019 Toyota RAV4s come with a 2.5-liter, 203-horsepower engine, an 8-speed automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive. All RAV4s come with eight airbags, plus Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, which includes adaptive cruise control, a pre-collision system with pedestrian and daytime cyclist detection, lane departure warning with steering assist, road sign assist, and lane tracing assist. They also include Entune 3.0 on their equipment list, with Apple CarPlay (but not Android Auto), a 6-speaker audio system, a 7-inch touch screen, Siri Eyes Free, and Bluetooth. Cloth seats, manual seat adjustment, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel with redundant stereo controls, power windows, mirrors and door locks, a USB port and a rearview camera are standard. The base LE model comes with 17-inch steel wheels, LED headlights and taillights, and automatic high beams.

Notable Optional Equipment

Upgrades include auto on/off headlights, a panoramic moonroof, heated side mirrors, dual-zone climate control, SofTex seats, and heated and cooled front seats with memory controls. Rear seat vents, which weren’t offered with the previous RAV4, are now available. Also available are a digital rearview mirror, a camera that provides an overhead 360-degree view, push-button start, five USB ports, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, an 8-inch touch screen, Qi wireless smartphone charging, and JBL’s 11-speaker, 800-watt Premium Audio system. Nineteen-inch wheels are included on the options sheet, as are a contrasting-color roof. You can also opt for dynamic torque vectoring and a multi-terrain select system, which changes vehicle settings based on the type of surface you’re driving on. All-wheel drive is optional on the RAV4 and standard on the XSE Hybrid.

Under the Hood

All non-hybrid 2019 Toyota RAV4s have a 203-horsepower 4-cylinder engine under the hood, controlled through an 8-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy is as high as 26 mpg city/35 mpg highway/30 mpg combined, a significant increase over the gasoline-powered 2018’s 24-26 mpg combined fuel economy. On the hybrid side, a 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle 4-cylinder engine works with two electric motors and a sealed nickel metal hydride battery pack that’s small enough to fit under the rear seats instead of taking up space in the cargo area. The Hybrid comes with AWD and a continuously variable automatic transmission. Toyota estimates fuel economy for the 2019 RAV4 Hybrid will be 41 mpg around town, 37 on the highway and 39 mpg combined, a huge step up from the 2018 RAV4’s numbers – 34 city/30 highway/32 combined, and expected to be the best fuel economy in its class. That would also mean a potential range of nearly 600 miles on a single tank of gas.

2.5-liter inline-4
203 horsepower @ 6,600 rpm
184 lb-ft of torque @ 5,000 rpm
EPA city/highway fuel economy: 26/35 mpg (FWD), 27/34 mpg (AWD with stop/start), 25/33 mpg (AWD without stop/start)

2.5-liter inline-4 engine + electric motors (RAV4 XSE Hybrid)
219 horsepower @ 5,700 rpm (peak output with gasoline and electric combined)
163 lb-ft of torque @ 3,600-5,200 rpm
EPA city/highway fuel economy (estimated): 41/37 mpg

Pricing Notes

The new 2019 Toyota RAV4 LE has a starting price of $26,545, including the $1,045 destination charge. With this generation of the RAV4, Toyota is making a strong value statement. The LE adds more than $2,000 of standard equipment for an increase of $840 over the previous model. At the XLE level, $3,000 of standard fare adds about $1,500, and the Limited offers $4,000 of standard equipment at a cost increase of about $2,300. The XSE Hybrid model offers an even stronger value proposition, with more power and better fuel economy than the non-hybrid RAV4, for only $800 more than the comparable gasoline-powered AWD models. And that pricing is $925 less than the 2018 hybrid, for a vehicle that contains many more amenities and features. When you get to the top-of-the-line Limited, pricing starts at about $35,000. Hybrid prices start at about $28,000 (LE), then move to $32,000 (XLE), $35,000 (XSE), and finally the Limited Hybrid, which starts at about $37,000. Pricing runs higher than that of the Honda CR-V, Ford Escape and Nissan Rogue. We anticipate the 2019 Toyota RAV4 will continue Toyota’s ongoing tradition of fantastic resale value and reliability.

Skoda Superb 2019 Interior Engine

The clean, straightforward design of the Skoda Superb 2019 Interior is let down only by the turbo model’s excessive add-ons.

Skoda Superb 2019 Interior Release, Specs and Review

Fresh pictures of the India-bound Superb facelift have emerged online that show the full-size sedan in all its glory. The car in question is the Chinese-spec Superb, but we’re expecting a similar update to make its way to India as well. So what’s different?

Starting with the face, you’d note that the grille is now wider and larger. Dunked in chrome, the grille makes the Superb’s face look statelier. The headlamps aren’t as sleek and sharp as they used to be. It now has a rounded rectangular-ish shape that we’ve seen on the Karoq. But much like the current Superb, there’s a kink at the end. It’s interesting to note that the Superb facelift will get an LED-projector headlamp setup as opposed to the current bi-xenons.

ALSO SEE: Audi A6 Avant 2019 Release Date New Review

From the side, there’s practically no give that the car is new in any way. There are new alloy wheel designs here, but nothing much else. Over to the rear, the revised bumper gets our attention immediately. There’s a matte black insert that helps cut the visual bulk, with reflectors placed smartly on top. On the boot, we see the new ‘S K O D A’ badging instead of the insignia, something we first saw on the Skoda Scala. The tail lamps too are now sharper and are expected to feature dynamic turn indicator. Finally, there’s a chrome strip that connects the tail lamps, making the rear appear wider.

There’s no glimpse into the interior yet. But we don’t expect a major change here. For India, the Superb facelift is likely to feature the 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit all-digital instrument cluster. Notably, both the Octavia and the Kodiaq now sport this feature. Skoda could play around with the interior trims to make it look fresher. Don’t expect any difference in terms of space or boot space, though.

Skoda India might launch the Superb facelift in India by the end of this year. Since changes are mostly cosmetic, we’re expecting prices to remain relatively unchanged at Rs 25 lakh to Rs 33.5 lakh (ex-showroom).

2020 Dodge Durango Ratings

The 2020 Dodge Durango handles well and its standard AWD gives off-road ability as well, though only the turbo model offers spirited performance.
The R/T doesn’t come cheap, but it’s the specification that really lets the Durango flex its muscles. With standard V8 power, a 7,400-pound towing capacity and a sporty stance, the R/T is family-friendly transportation with attitude. Go with any number of the interesting paint colors, such as F8 Green, In-Violet or Reactor Blue to shake up the school run. (READ: Dodge Attitude 2020 Specs)

When a car company sells what passes for a family sedan with 707 horsepower, it should come as no surprise that its take on a three-row SUV should be, let’s say, a little different from what other manufacturers offer. With its aging platform, the 2019 Dodge Durango remains the stubborn outlier in the ever more car-based three-row SUV segment, offering not just a healthy V6 engine but two stout V8s, class-leading towing capacity and muscle-car styling cues.

If the Durango looks familiar, that’s because you’ve seen this current generation on the road since the 2011 model year. That’s an eternity compared to nearly every rival, but Dodge has kept this three-row crossover relevant. For 2019, there’s even more to like. Changes this year include new exterior styling on the GT trim level, a new 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, and a new integrated trailer brake that is included with the Trailer Tow package.

The Durango’s fundamentals — including extraordinary towing capacity, available V8 power, and adult-size space in the third row — are key to its enduring appeal. On the other hand, as one of the most muscular (and oldest) vehicles in its class, the Durango is also one of the heaviest — by a lot. That weight takes a toll on maneuverability, real-world fuel economy, and acceleration with the V6 engine. It also bolsters the argument for choosing one of the exuberant V8 engines, fuel bills notwithstanding.

ALSO SEE: 2020 Dodge Challenger Style

If you can find a powertrain that suits your needs, whether a V6 or a V8, there’s a lot to like. Even at this advanced stage in its life cycle, the Durango remains one of the most capable and well-rounded three-row crossovers you can buy.

2019 Dodge Durango configurations

The 2019 Dodge Durango is a three-row crossover SUV available in five trim levels: SXT, GT, Citadel, R/T and SRT.

All Durango models except the SRT are rear-wheel-drive and offer optional all-wheel drive. The SRT is only available with all-wheel drive. Seven-passenger seating is standard in the SXT, the GT and the R/T, while second-row captain’s chairs (reducing capacity to six) are standard on the Citadel and the SRT and optional on all others. If you need to prioritize cargo over passengers, you can order the base SXT with just two rows of seats, or you can order the Lightweight Performance package on the SRT that also removes the third row. The other trims are three-row only.

The base SXT comes standard with a 3.6-liter V6 engine (295 hp, 260 pound-feet of torque) matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Standard features include 18-inch alloy wheels, a load-leveling rear suspension, foglights, heated mirrors, a rearview camera, keyless ignition and entry, three-zone automatic climate control, a 60/40-split folding and reclining second-row seat, a 50/50-split folding third-row seat with power-folding headrests (or alternatively, an option to remove the third-row seat), cloth upholstery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Technology features include Bluetooth, two USB ports, a 7-inch touchscreen interface, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, and a six-speaker sound system.

ALSO READ: 2020 Dodge Viper Concept Images

The GT adds 20-inch wheels, a power liftgate, rear parking sensors, remote ignition, an eight-way power driver’s seat, a 115-volt power outlet, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and satellite radio. For 2019 the GT now shares the LED foglights and aggressive front fascia found on the R/T, along with a new hood that’s similar to the one on the SRT.

Going with the Citadel gets you xenon headlights, power-folding mirrors, automatic high beams, automatic wipers, upgraded brakes, front parking sensors, roof-rail crossbars, a sunroof, a cargo cover, leather and vinyl upholstery, additional leather trim, heated front- and second-row seats, a six-way power passenger seat, a power-adjustable steering wheel with heating, driver-seat memory settings, an 8.4-inch touchscreen interface, a navigation system, and a nine-speaker Alpine audio system with a subwoofer and HD radio.

An optional Anodized Platinum appearance package adds upgraded leather upholstery with silver accent stitching and special interior trim. There’s also an optional 825-watt, 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, which is also available as an option on the R/T and the SRT.

The R/T moves into high-performance realms with the 5.7-liter V8 engine (360 hp, 390 lb-ft) as standard, an upgraded steering system, upgraded brakes, a lowered ride height, a performance hood design, LED foglights, leather and simulated-suede upholstery, and a nine-speaker Alpine audio system. The Citadel’s standard roof rails and sunroof are optional. The 5.7-liter V8 is also optional for the Citadel.

Some of the higher trims’ standard features are also offered on lower trims as options. A Technology Group package for the Citadel and the R/T adds adaptive cruise control, blind-spot and rear cross-traffic warning, a forward collision warning system with automatic braking, lane departure warning and lane keeping assist. You can also add full leather upholstery bundled with ventilated front seats to the R/T and the Citadel.

Optional on the GT and the R/T is a Brass Monkey appearance package that adds a gloss-black grille, black headlight bezels, 20-inch bronze-painted wheels, and extra body-colored trim. An optional Blacktop appearance package (also for the GT and the R/T) is similar and fits the Durango with 20-inch black-painted wheels and a variety of black-out exterior trim items. The Blacktop package also bumps engine power up to 295 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. Other options include black running boards and bright pedals (Mopar Running Board package); a second-row console with an armrest and storage (includes an in-console 12-volt power outlet and a USB charge port); a dual-screen rear entertainment system (with Blu-ray compatibility); and a trailer-tow package, which now includes trailer brake control.

ALSO READ: New 2020 Dodge Charger Spotted History

Finally, the SRT trim level tops it off with a 6.4-liter V8 engine (475 hp, 470 lb-ft), performance-tuned steering, an adaptive high-performance suspension, electronically controlled limited-slip differential, upgrade Brembo brakes, SRT Performance Pages (various configurable performance parameters), auto-leveling headlights, upgraded leather and simulated-suede upholstery, and ventilated front seats.

SRT options include a sunroof, full leather upholstery, the rear entertainment system, the SRT Interior Appearance Group (which includes carbon-fiber accents and a soft-touch headliner), the Technology Group and the Lightweight Performance package, which removes the third-row seats.

Options on every Durango include a blind-spot and rear cross-traffic warning system and a CD player.

Trim tested

Each vehicle typically comes in multiple versions that are fundamentally similar. The ratings in this review are based on our full test of the Dodge Durango Limited (3.6L V6 | 8-speed automatic | AWD).

NOTE: Since this test was conducted, the current Durango has received some revisions to appearance packages and standard equipment at various trim levels. Our 2015 Durango tester’s Limited trim is similar to today’s GT. Otherwise, our findings remain broadly applicable to this year’s Durango.

Super Grandia 2019 Engine

Super Grandia 2019 Engine – The clean, straightforward design of the Super Grandia 2019 is let down only by the turbo model’s excessive add-ons.

Super Grandia 2019 New Release

Toyota sure takes their time when it comes to redesigning utility vehicles. It took a decade for them to come up with a new Hilux, Fortuner, and Innova, and the current Hiace has been around since 2004. That’s just about 15 years without a major redesign.

But Toyota isn’t gunning for the Mitsubishi L300’s (unofficial) record for longevity. After more than a decade, there’s an all-new Hiace coming, and it could debut just before the year ends. So, what do we know so far? With a little help from these renders, we could know what’s in the pipeline.

It was spied late last year with something most of us aren’t used to seeing in a Hiace: a hood. Granted, there was the Granvia and the Euro-spec model from the 2000’s, but traditionally, the Hiace has stuck to the ‘cab-over’ design for over 50 years. Switching over to the hooded design is likely due to more stringent crash test regulations worldwide. With a limited crumple zone, it seems like the flat-nosed days of the Hiace are numbered.

READ ALSO : Volvo S60 Fuel Injector Ratings

With that, the render shows what could be thee Hiace’s front end. It gets some inspiration from Toyota’s current design of MPVs and vans with upswept headlights, a sizable (and functional) grill, and an even larger lower air intake. The render also took liberties to add multi-spoke alloy wheels, along with some chrome bits. Grandia anyone?

As it is a commercial vehicle, it is possible that the next-gen Hiace will still come in various body configurations. The spied van had a long wheelbase, a wide body, and a low roof, which could be the Grandia. As the render draws on the spied Hiace, it has a wide tailgate with slim tail lights, likely for a wide opening to the cargo area. The render even includes a bumper step, just like the current van.

Japanese motoring website BestCar Web added that the Hiace could gain Toyota Safety Sense. The package includes automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and lane departure warning, to name a few. It is likely that Toyota Safety Sense will be available for the Japanese market, as well as select countries. Stability control is also a possibility.
