2020 Cadillac Cts-V Specs

What’s new

Champion Edition package discontinued
Part of the third-generation CTS-V introduced for 2016

You can consider the CTS-V as a heavily modified CTS, and as such, there aren’t any other trims or levels. But there are packages, and we recommend the Luxury package for its 60/40-split folding rear seat, heated rear seats and window shades. If you can get a test sit, consider the available Recaro performance seats; they’re great on a track or mountain road, but less so on the daily commute. Overview

The 2020 Cadillac CTS-V is a great example of getting the best of both worlds, serving as a practical companion during the week and turning into a track-day weapon on the weekend.

Just like Cadillac’s regular CTS, the CTS-V has four doors, a comfortable interior, and loads of features. Unlike the CTS, though, the CTS-V has a Corvette-derived supercharged V8 good for 640 horsepower. It also comes with an adjustable suspension and high-performance brakes to give it absurdly high levels of capability.

There are other rivals to consider, of course, with the BMW M5 and the Mercedes-AMG E 63 the most well-known. These German high-performance sedans typically have nicer-looking interiors and more in the way of advanced infotainment features. Yet we like the CTS-V all the same. This bold American sedan easily matches the world’s best when it comes to performance, and it does so at a more affordable price.

2019 Cadillac CTS-V configurations

The 2020 Cadillac CTS-V is a high-performance version of the regular CTS sedan, which is reviewed separately. The V version packs a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that produces 640 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque. You can only get it with an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. Only one trim level is available.

Standard equipment highlights include 19-inch wheels, summer performance tires, Brembo performance brakes, an electronic limited-slip differential, a magnetically controlled adaptive suspension, an automatic parking system, xenon headlights, and keyless ignition and entry. The CTS-V also has forward collision warning, blind-spot and rear cross-traffic warning systems, lane departure warning and intervention, and rearview and curb-view parking cameras.

Inside the cabin, you’ll find dual-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable front seats (with heating, manual thigh extenders and power-adjustable bolsters), driver-seat memory settings, leather and simulated-suede upholstery, a heated power-adjustable steering wheel, and a simulated-suede headliner. Cadillac also fits the CTS-V with a 12.3-inch all-digital gauge display, a head-up display, an 8-inch touchscreen interface, OnStar communications (with 4G LTE and a Wi-Fi hotspot), wireless smartphone charging, three USB ports, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a navigation system, and a 13-speaker Bose surround-sound audio system with satellite radio.

The optional Luxury package adds tri-zone climate control, a 60/40-split folding rear seat, heated rear seats, a power rear sunshade, manual rear side sunshades, a 110-volt power outlet, and Cadillac’s rearview camera mirror. The Carbon Fiber package adds a carbon-fiber hood vent, spoiler, front splitter, and rear diffuser.

Also available as stand-alone options are ventilated front seats, Recaro performance front seats, an onboard data and video recorder, a simulated-suede steering wheel and shift knob, as well as a sunroof.

The ratings in this review are based on our full test of the Cadillac CTS-V (supercharged 6.2L V8 | 8-speed automatic | RWD).

Nissan Patrol 2020 Configurations

The Nissan Patrol has been around for quite some time now. In fact, it’s already headed ninth year of production by 2020. There has been news floating around that a new one will come out by 2020, but for now, Nissan has given the large SUV another facelift. READ: 2020 Nissan Rogue Redesign Style

Exterior changes to the 2020 Patrol are rather minor. For starters, there’s a new front bumper featuring a deeper apron than this year’s model. That also means the foglight housings have been changed. Whereas the 2019 Patrol has trapezoidal housings, the updated version sports a more traditional round unit.

Tacked on fender flares have been added (as an option) to the Patrol for the 2020 model year. along with that, there are also two-tone alloy wheels to go along with the mild changes. You’ll need a sharper eye to spot the changes made to the rear. There’s a new diffuser at the back, which is now more pronounced than before. Capping off all the changes is a new chrome exhaust tip.

ALSO SEE: New Nissan X Trail 2020 Photos

There are no notable changes to the interior but the 2020 Patrol does get an upgraded version of Nissan’s Intelligent Mobility safety package. Aside from the 360-degree camera, the Patrol has lane keeping assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking for front and rear, rear cross traffic alert, and blind spot monitoring.

Also unchanged is the engine as it’s still the same 5.6-liter V8 that’s used worldwide. Output is rated at 400 PS and 560 Nm of torque. The lone transmission choice is a seven-speed automatic. For those who aren’t too keen on V8 power (and fuel bills), there’s also a 4.0-liter V6 and that makes a respectable 275 PS and 390 Nm of torque.

As for the next-generation Patrol, it might just be out by the next decade. Reports have suggested that the all-new model will share its platform with the Mitsubishi Pajero. Given that Nissan owns a significant stake over at Mitsubishi, it may be a possibility.

New Land Rover Defender Interior Interior

The long-wheelbase prototype vehicle can be seen taking the famous ‘Carousel’ bend at speed, suggesting Land Rover engineers are making final adjustments to the model’s suspension, brakes and steering set-up.

Due to go into production early in 2020, the rugged 4×4 was previously spotted testing in North America. Engineers were said to be subjecting the Toyota Land Cruiser rival to “rigorous test extremes”, including temperatures as low as minus 40deg Celcius and as high as 48 deg, as well as at altitudes up to 13,000ft.

The first official ‘spyshots’ of the five-door ‘110’ variant were followed last year by shots of the short-wheelbase three-door ’90’ model testing in disguise. An even longer-wheelbase ‘130’ version is rumoured, too.

A prototype has also been seen displaying a rear-mounted spare wheel. It’s not clear yet if that’s a feature that will make production, but it’s likely given the car’s off-road focus and the styling link to the old model.

Previous pictures showed the new Defender in camo livery on the roads near the Jaguar Land Rover factory. Asked about the official images at the Paris motor show, Felix Bräutigam, Jaguar Land Rover’s marketing chief, admitted they were of the first prototypes to leave Gaydon, and said more would follow in coming months as the ramp-up to production begins. READ: Land Rover Defender 2020 Picture

“These are what we call Pilot build cars and testing will increase on public roads from now,” said Bräutigam. “The first four cars are ready, and now the line is running you can expect the number of test cars to grow exponentially.

“In time, as you’d expect, the Defender will go through all the usual test routines, from cold weather testing in Arjeplog in Sweden to extreme hot weather testing in Death Valley in the USA. It’s exciting for us to be able to now be one step closer to bringing the car to market, of course. We are talking about the rebirth of an icon and not just as a single car, but as a whole family.

“Our brand is about passion, and it is icons that drive that passion. The truth is the world doesn’t need another premium brand doing what all the others do. These icons are what separate us; at Land Rover we are rooted in our heritage and that’s what makes us different.”

Bräutigam added that he felt the time taken between the Defender going off sale in 2016 and relaunching could be a positive for the new car, including the liklihood that it will be offered with electrified powertrains as well as petrol and diesel units.

ALSO SEE: 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Engine

“If we had wanted to recreate the existing car then we could have moved quicker, but it is our view that for an icon to remain an icon it cannot only look backwards, but must move forwards too. The new Defender will move the game on again, and having the benefit for some perspective in order to achieve that should be to our advantage.

“The one thing I can promise you is that the new Defender will do all that our customers expect of it, without being a copycat of what has gone before. It is a car for the modern world, and that means that it must move the game on if it is to be relevant.”

According to the DVLA database, the vehicle registered with the numberplate seen in our spy shots is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine.

In one of the spy shots captured by our photographer, the window is wound down and a driver can be seen. It appears to be Nick Rogers, Jaguar Land Rover’s executive director of product engineering, although the firm refused to comment.

The reborn Defender is being developed in at least two forms: a short wheelbase 90-badged model, and a larger 110 version. Autocar has previously revealed that the two wheelbase sizes will allow the firm to develop a whole family of vehicles, ranging from basic utilitarian machines up to luxurious high-end models.

With prototypes now having been seen on public roads, at the track and in extreme weather environments, test mules of the new Defender are likely to be a regular sight on public roads as Land Rover hones the vehicle. The aim for the new machine is to offer the “biggest breadth of capability of any model to wear the badge”, with prices tipped to range from over £45,000 to £70,000.

The previous Defender went out of production in January 2016, and the firm has been working since then to develop a successor.

The original Land Rover Series I, from which the Defender is derived, launched over 70 years ago in 1948.
