Top News: Skybus Closes Doors
April 5, 2008--
Columbus, Ohio ultra low cost airline Skybus Airlines shut down all operations last night around midnight Eastern Standard Time. The airline recently lost two top executives in the past two weeks. The struggling carrier saw passenger loads drop as well as revenue in the winter months. The airline was just over 10 months old. Skybus had this to say on the homepage of their website (www.skybus.com) "We deeply regret the impact this decision will have on our employees and their families, customers, vendors, suppliers, airport officials and others in the cities in which we have operated. Our financial condition is such that our Board of Directors felt it had no choice but to cease operations." Passengers holding tickets for Skybus flights after April 4, 2008 should contact their credit card company to apply for a dispute and refund.
